Our Learning November 1-4:

Items to Note:

-thank you for signing up for our parent teacher conferences this coming week. I am looking forward to meeting with you and your child to celebrate their learning successes. If you have not signed up for a meeting please do so by going to  https://banff.schoolappointments.com

- Your child will be bringing home their progress and goal development document on Tuesday. Please take a look at it and we will then discuss it at our upcoming parent teacher meeting

- We will be having our unit test on Trees and Forests for science on Wednesday

-There is no school for students on Friday due to parent teacher conferences.

Our Learning:

Literacy - we enjoyed our figurative writing last week and will continue to do so with our Stormy Weather illustration and then move on to a remembrance day themed illustration. We will continue our Wonder novel study as well.

Math - we will be starting our new chapter on factors and multiples with a focus on describing factors and multiples of numbers less than 100.

Science - we will be reviewing our learning on Trees and Forests with a unit test on Wednesday and then we will have one class to start our new learning on Evidence and Investigation.

Social - we will be starting our new learning on Ancient Athens making connections between the type of democracy used in this culture to our democracy.

Weekly homework - we will be working through a word problem solving activity.

Thoughtbook - we will be looking at varying perspectives around mandatory voting to support our learning in social.
