Our Learning:
Math - we will be working on the curricular outcome of describing patterns in tables of values and graphs to solve problems. At home you could make a small table of values where you indicate the x numbers and then your child could make up the y numbers. Your child could then describe any patterns as well as the relationship between the x and y numbers. When describing relationships an operation is involved (multiplying, dividing, addition, subtraction or a combination).
Literacy - We will continue to work on our Blended Structure and Style program for writing with this week's focus on ly openers, ed and ing openers. We will continue to work through our Wonder novel study learning more about the main characters.
Science - we will be working on the curricular outcome of describing the kinds of plants and animals found living on, under and among trees and identify how trees may affect and are affected by those living things. As well as learning about how to distinguish trees from plants.
Social - we will continue to work on learning about the different political parties involved in the federal election by exploring their varying platforms.
Thought book - we will be working through images that will help further our understanding of the values of trees and forests.
Weekly homework - last week in math we worked through a ¨today´s number¨ activity. We will use this as our first weekly homework sheet.
