Our learning for the week:

Items to note:

-Friday is a half day for students and we will be having a school wide pajama day theme. Please ensure that the pajamas your child is wearing are appropriate. Please also know that this is optional.

-Math test on Friday

-On Wednesday students are encouraged to wear orange in support of the movement -  Every Child Matters.

Our Learning:

Math - we will be working on problem solving using our learning on equations and plan to have our chapter test on Friday. Students will be shown the test prior to Friday so they are aware of the types of questions they will be asked. 

Social - we will be working on understanding and valuing different viewpoints and perspectives as well as learning about our rights and responsibilities as they relate to a democratic society. 

Science - we will be learning about the parts of a tree as well as the cross section of a tree. We will also begin to classify leaves. Students will be asked to bring in leaf samples for Tuesday's science class. 

Writing -  we will be making a switch to narrative writing. Using F.H. Varley's Stormy Weather painting we will work through a guided writing piece using figures of speech and our writing toolbox.
