Our learning April 26-30:

Items to note:

-We have a Nature Explorers field trip planned for Tuesday afternoon. Please make sure your child comes to school prepared to be outside for the entire afternoon. 

- We are planning to have our math test on angles, triangles and polygons on Tuesday

- Teachers have been asked to remind families to use the AHS Daily Screener each morning and keep your child home if they are displaying any symptoms, even mildly.

Our Learning:

Math - we will be working on our assignment of designing a town or a golf course as we wrap up our learning on angles, triangles and polygons. We will be using our learning from our chapter for this final assignment. We are planning to have our chapter test on Tuesday. 

Science - we will be learning about and exploring Bernoulli's Principle as a part of our air and aerodynamics learning. Last week we completed designing an experiment to show one of the properties of air. It would be supportive and fun for you to ask your child to show you their video and discuss with them the parts of their experiment and their learning. 

Social - we will be learning about how provincial governments work by discussing different political parties and how the governing party is decided. 

Writing - we will continue to learn about and practice writing newspaper articles. 

Thought Book - this week we will be using a passage from a previous Alberta Provincial Achievement exam with the focus on understanding the sequence of the passage and what clue words helped us understand the sequence of the passage.
