Our Learning January 11-15:

Items to note:

-We will be having our next Nature Explorers field trip on Tuesday, Jan.12. Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately to be outside for the entire afternoon. 

Our learning:

Math - we will continue to develop our skills on drawing, writing and representing improper fractions and mixed numbers. 

Writing - we will be turning our wordless books into our first narrative story. We will start by planning our story in a story organizer and then work through the drafting process this week. 

Social - we will continue to learn about the structure of the Iroquois Confederacy along with the advantages and disadvantages of consensus as a decision making model.

Science - we will be learning that the apparent movement of objects in the night sky is regular and predictable and we will relate this apparent movement to the earth's rotation. Students will be creating an animation to support their understanding and new learning. 

Thought book - we will be working through a figures of speech thoughtbook this week in support of the writing of our narrative story this week.
