October 28- Nov. 1

Reminders:

We will be having our Halloween parade with the whole school starting

at 1:15 pm on October 31. Please join us for the fun if you are free.

Please remember that weapons are not allowed at school. 

On Friday, we will be attending a presentation from astronaut Janie

Gibbons at 10:30 am. 

Science - we will be starting our new unit on Sky Science this week. 

Writing - we will continue with our descriptive writing and begin a Remembrance

Day writing piece that some of us will share at our Remembrance Day assembly.

Students selected an image that they are using as inspiration for their writing. 

Social - we will be completing chapter 1 and beginning chapter 2 in our textbook.

Chapter 2 focuses on our Charter of Rights and Freedoms once again and is

titled, Democracy in Action.

Math - we will continue to explore large numbers and small numbers including

how to represent them in expanded form. Last week we did an interesting math

riddle that you could ask your child about. It can also be found in their chapter 3

on page 60.

Reading  - we are almost finished our novel study. We will be working through

the final chapter and subsequent reading comprehension questions using our

grade 6 criteria on how to answer questions.
