 December 14-18:

Our learning for this week:

Items to note:
- I have been adding images of our learning on our class blog. You can follow our blog and receive email notifications when I have made a post by simply submitting your email on the homepage of the blog. This is also a helpful site to find resources to access at home about our grade 6 learning and curriculum. - We will be writing two tests this week. On Wednesday we will be writing our chapter 8 operations unit test. On Thursday, we will be writing our Evidence and Investigation unit test. 
- I will be sharing with the class our learning schedule for January 4-8 on Friday this week. The link for our learning times  will be found in our google classroom, our calendar and in the PDF slide I will give families on Friday. I have set up a folder specifically for our Online learning for January 4-8 in our google classroom. I will not be checking my work email over the two week holiday period so please let me know this week if you have any questions or concerns. 
-Learning materials needed for the online learning period will be sent home by December 18. 
-If you asked to borrow a Chrome book to support your child's online learning from January 4-8, they will be sent home with your child on Friday, December 18. 
-School spirit theme days are planned for next week:
Tuesday - Christmas sweater/ Red and Green Day!
Wednesday - Christmas character day (dress as your favourite holiday character)
Thursday - Christmas crazy hair/ hat day 
Friday- PJ day!  Door decorating contest winners to be announced! 
 
Our Learning:
Math - we will be completing our unit on operations this week with a math test on Wednesday. 

Science - we will be reviewing our learning on evidence and investigation this week and having our unit test on Thursday. We will also be sharing our crime scene project through a gallery walk, challenging our classmates to solve the crimes we created. 

Writing - we will be finishing our wordless book with both a self and peer assessment. In the peer assessment we will be making observations and inferences about each other's book to support the organization needed for an effective story. 

Health - we will be completing our healthy retreat assignment focusing on wellness choices. 

Thoughtbook - this week we will be reviewing multiplying and dividing with decimals.
