Reminders:

The school is closed from Feb.17-21.  School will resume on Feb.24

Math tests will be going home on Tuesday.  Once you have had a chance

to review your child’s test, please sign it and have your child return it to their portfolio. 

We will not have weekly math homework this week due to the holiday next week. 

If your child would like to make valentine cards for their friends, a list of our

class names can be found in google classroom. Please make sure if your

child is bringing in valentine cards that they bring a card in for everyone in our class. 

Math - we will be starting a new unit of study on operations. 

Science - we will be learning about adaptations insects make in order to fly and

then compare the adaptations birds and insects both make in order to fly. 

Social - we will be finishing our Iroquois Confederacy model project and plan to

have a gallery walk with Ms.Major’s grade 6 class on Friday afternoon. 

Writing - we will explore three picture books this week modeling character development

and then we will do a practice writing assignment similar to the Provincial Achievement

Exam we will write in May.
