January 13-17


Reminders:
Friday is a half day.


Please bring in a glass jar as your child will be making a lantern for the Right
From the Start community lantern walk. Even if your family can not attend the event
a lantern will be made at school. 


Math - we will continue to work on mixed numbers and improper fractions thinking
about how they apply to our lives while we solve real life problems involving ordering
and comparing these types of fractions.  


Science - we will be learning about how air can be compressed and the application of this
knowledge in our lives. 


Social - we will continue to learn about the Iroquois Confederacy focusing on the guiding
question of what are the advantages and disadvantages of consensus as a decision
making model for government. 

Writing - we have nearly completed turning our wordless books into written stories.
We will now practice showing versus telling in our next narrative piece modeled after
the story, What a Wonderful Day To Be A Cow.
