 Our Learning May 31-June 4:

Items to note:
- Friday is a half day for students.
- we will be having our social test on municipal and provincial government on Tuesday.
- An email will be coming your way this week from our administration team in regards to your child's transitioning to Division III (grade 7). 

Our learning:
Math - we will be starting our new chapter on collecting and interpreting data which is part of the statistics and probability strand in our math curriculum. This week we will be looking at a variety of different types of graphs along with beginning to interpret the graphs. New vocabulary we will be learning this week is discrete versus continuous data. 

Social - we will be starting our new learning on why our values change over time as well as the journey to our Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. 

Writing - we will be starting our class newspaper project using the skills we have worked through on newspaper writing and political cartoons. 

Science - we will be starting our new learning on Flight, which is our final unit in our grade 6 science curriculum. This week we will be conducting tests of a model parachute design that students will create and then identify design changes to improve the effectiveness of their design. 

Thought book - this week we will observe and interpret various graphs - pictographs, line, bar, scatter plots, pie charts.
