January 15-19

This week we have two assemblies schedule. On January 18

at 1 pm we will be having an assembly focusing on generosity.

On January 19 at 1 pm we will be having an assembly to celebrate

the recent donation of 25 bikes for our grades 4-8 physed program.

In Math we will be starting a new unit on fractions. Our grade 6 math

learning involves learning about mixed numbers and improper fractions.

In writing we will be starting our narrative story writing unit. This week

we will be reviewing the story organizer we used last year and begin

to analyze character development in the planning process of story writing.

In science we will learn about the movements of an airplane - roll, pitch

and yaw.

We will be going skiing to the Nordic Center on January 16. Please

make sure your child has returned their permission form.
